HIGH SPEED CAMERA

The human vocal folds vibrate at an extremely high frequency of 100 - 140 vibrations / sec. Ordinary endoscopic cameras are unable to capture such high frequency cycles. The high speed camera can capture multiple images in each glottal cycle, thus giving us accurate representation of each mucosal wave. This enables us to pick up early disorders and initiate early treatment. This is the earliest clinical tool for the detection of malignancy. Also it is the best tool for the detection for vocal cord asynchrony.

DIGITAL SWALLOWING WORKSTATION :

This system integrates FEES, Digital Video, and Swallowing Signals Lab. All these systems provide an assortment of tools for investigation of swallowing deficiencies and visual displays to assist with treatment. Patients having swallowing problems can be rehabilitated using a variety of physiologic transducers such as EMG, tongue array, nasal cannula, cervical auscultation etc. FEES is an endoscopic evaluation of swallowing done in patients with swallowing difficulty. Swallowing difficulty or dysphagia can occur in patients who have suffered neurological events like stroke or have conditions such as bulbar palsy, Parkinsons, etc.
